CM Nitish chairs high-level meeting over Ram Navami violence

On Sunday, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar chaired a high-level meeting over violence in Sasaram and Bihar Sharif during Ram Navami festivities.

The chief minister gave the police orders to be on high alert, to spot the anti-social elements, and to take action against them in order to preserve law and order during the gathering. Additionally, authorities have been requested to keep an eye on those who disseminate misinformation and to take the necessary action to stop it.

CM also announced an ex-gratia amount of Rs 5 lakh for the next of kin of a person who died after clashes broke out between two groups on Saturday evening in Nalanda’s Bihar Sharif. The deceased person identified as Mukesh Kumar died in a firing incident in the Paharpur area, police said.
