Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann conducted a surprise inspection of various government offices at the local tehsil complex on Thursday, receiving accolades from the people for his commitment to citizen-centric services. The inspection included a visit to the tehsil complex in Hoshiarpur, where the CM checked different offices, interacted with citizens, and addressed their concerns.
During the visit, CM Mann established a camp office at the tehsil complex to promptly address and resolve citizens’ complaints. He directed the Deputy Commissioner (DC) and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) to set up their camp offices for efficient redressal of public grievances.
Mann, while addressing the people, urged them to bring any issues to his attention without delay. He assured them that prompt solutions would be provided to alleviate their problems. Mann emphasized the government’s commitment to overall development and the well-being of the people of Punjab.
The CM interacted openly with the public, discussing their concerns and appreciating their warm welcome during the impromptu visit. He encouraged citizens to actively engage with the government, ensuring that their issues are resolved promptly.
In a candid exchange with citizens, Mann highlighted the government’s dedication to providing 43 services at people’s doorsteps through the ‘Bhagwant Mann Sarkar, Tuhade Dwar’ (Bhagwant Mann Government at Your Doorstep) initiative. He expressed confidence that the toll-free number 1076 would serve as a catalyst for delivering government services within the stipulated time frame.
The CM, known for his hands-on approach, discussed various issues with government officials during the visit. He urged them to establish camp offices for effective grievance redressal and emphasized the importance of serving the underprivileged sections of society.
Addressing the ongoing water-sharing issues, Mann criticized the central government’s handling of funds allocated for Punjab. He insisted that the center’s misconception, trying to halt the state’s development by withholding funds, needed to be corrected. Mann expressed his willingness to attend a meeting called by the Union Jal Shakti Minister on the SYL (Sutlej-Yamuna Link) canal issue.
In a firm response to the political rhetoric, Mann stated that seeking forgiveness politically holds no advantage, as while mistakes can be forgiven, crimes cannot. He directed attention to the Akali Dal leader Sukhbir Singh Badal, highlighting that political apologies do not absolve individuals of their involvement in actions that caused harm to the state.
The CMaffirmed that he would steadfastly represent the interests of the state in the upcoming meeting and dismissed the political maneuvering of apologizing as insufficient for addressing the grave issues affecting Punjab.
