Under the leadership of Chief Minister, Manohar Lal, the present state government is making relentless efforts in the last nine and a half years to provide employment opportunities to the youth. Taking this a step further, the state government has initiated Mission @ 60,000 to provide more employment opportunities and today, the Chief Minister inaugurated the portal of the Thekedar Saksham Yuva scheme.Under this, the government will provide special training of 3 months to 10,000 youths holding diplomas and degrees in engineering. This initiative of the government will provide new opportunities for self-employment for the youth.

Manohar Lal, while addressing a press conference here today, said that the Haryana government will prepare skilled contractors by providing technical training to bring quality to infrastructure-related construction works in the state. In half the training period, these youths will be taught tasks related to engineering, such as preparing layout plans, understanding and implementing detailed drawings, technical calculations, and maintaining quality. In the remaining half of the training period, they will be sent to various departments for practical training at civil works sites, said the Chief Minister.School Education Minister, Kanwar Pal also remained present on this occasion.

He said that a portal has been created for the registration of interested eligible youth. The portal has been launched today. Youth should have passed CET exam. After completing the training, these youths will also be provided with certificates, based on which they can receive construction work of up to 25 lakhs from various government departments and panchayats based on priority.

Manohar Lal said that trained youths interested in establishing self-employment will also be provided with interest-free loans of up to Rs. 3 lakh for a period of one year. This initiative will provide new opportunities for self-employment to the youth, and this scheme will prove to be a milestone in providing self-employment to the youth.

With the aim of encouraging community participation in tree planting activities in non-forest areas, the Chief Minister has launched the Van Mitra scheme and Van Mitra portal. Van Mitra scheme is a part of Mission @ 60,000. The members of families with an annual income of less than Rs. 1.80 lakh can register to become Van Mitras. Each Van Mitra will receive a incentive based on the maintenance of the plant. Manohar Lal said that in the first phase of the scheme, the selection of 7500 Van Mitras will be done through the portal. A Van Mitra can choose non-forest land for tree planting in their village, town, or city. If the planted tree grows on the Van Mitra’s own land, they will be considered the owner of the tree. Agreements will be signed between Van Mitras and landowners. According to this, the owner will not cut the tree for at least 10 years.

Meanwhile in the second year, Van Mitras will receive Rs. 8 per living plant each month. In the third year, they will receive Rs. 5 per living plant each month, and in the fourth year, this amount will be reduced to Rs. 3 per living plant. In case the Van Mitra will not continue under the scheme, the Forest Department will take over the trees.

Ashima Brar, Director General, Information, Public Relations, Language and Culture Department Mandip Singh Brar, Managing Director, UHBVN Dr. Saket Kumar, Chief Executive Officer, HKRNL Amit Khatri, Media Secretary Praveen Atreya, Chief Media Coordinator Sudesh Kataria and other officers also remained present on this occasion.
