A raid was conducted by the CM Flying Squad at the Excise and Taxation Department offices located in the District Secretariat this morning. During the inspection, 15 out of 24 employees were found absent, prompting a stir across other departments within the Secretariat. The absent employees’ report has been submitted to higher authorities following the Flying Squad’s actions.

The Flying Squad had received information that employees at the Deputy Excise and Taxation Commissioner’s office in Room No. 306 of the Secretariat were frequently absent. Acting on this tip-off, the squad arrived at the office early today, accompanied by a duty magistrate. They first checked the attendance register, revealing that out of the total 24 staff members, 15 were absent.

Over the past few months, the CM Flying Squad has been consistently inspecting various government offices. This recent action within a department of the Secretariat has caused a commotion across other departments as well, marking it as the first such initiative taken within this particular department.
