CM announces new initiatives to enhance education in Rajasthan

Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma presided over the review meeting of the School Education Department held in the Chief Minister›s Office. In a review meeting, Sharma announced new initiatives for the students of Rajasthan. He confirmed that school bags would be distributed to all students from classes 1 to 8, as well as to girls from classes 9 to 12 across the state.
Additionally, the Chief Minister also shared positive news for female students eagerly awaiting bicycles, announcing that 1.25 lakh bicycles will be distributed to girls in December.
Highlighting the importance of education in shaping a developed Rajasthan, Sharma emphasised that today’s students are the future citizens of the state. He reiterated the government’s commitment to providing high-quality education through the use of new technologies, recruitment for vacant teaching positions, and the construction of additional classrooms.
Sharma also mentioned the ongoing efforts to effectively implement the new National Education Policy (NEP) and make Rajasthan a model state in the field of education. He instructed officials to expedite the implementation of departmental budget announcements and ensure that all promises were fulfilled on time.
To support smooth education, over 3.5 crore textbooks were distributed free of cost to students at the beginning of the academic session. Now, the distribution of school bags will further ease the academic experience for students.
The Chief Minister stated that the government is focused on enhancing the quality of teaching in schools by recruiting for vacant positions across the state. He highlighted that approximately 20,500 appointments and 18,000 promotions have already been made under the current government. The recruitment process is ongoing for over 5,000 positions, including Professor of School Education, Librarian Grade 2 and Grade 3, and Senior Teachers. Additionally, 515 selected candidates in various cadres will be appointed in December. The Chief Minister instructed officials to continue recruiting in phases to fill all vacant posts.
The Chief Minister directed the officials to conduct a survey of the number of teachers and students in all the schools of the state and appoint teachers in proportion to the number of students. He said that uniformity should be brought in the dress code of government and private schools of the state. The Chief Minister directed to get the condition of classrooms in schools and toilets in girls› schools physically verified and get them repaired and reconstructed as per the need. He said that strict action should be taken against those who are negligent in the work of physical verification. Sharma directed to install CCTV cameras in phases, with a view to maintaining security and discipline in schools. He said that the help of philanthropists should also be taken for this work.
In the meeting, Secretary of School Education Krishna Kunal informed the Chief Minister about the various achievements and innovations of the School Education Department. He informed that under the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit, the department has received investment proposals worth more than Rs 12,400 crores. Under the Hariyalo Rajasthan and Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign, the department planted a record number of trees. Also, 1.34 crore students of the state created a world record by performing Surya Namaskar. The department is also implementing several other initiatives, including the School Health Survey, Prakhar Rajasthan Reading Campaign, PM Shri Vidyalaya, Shala Sambalan App, Sports Competitions, and the E-Pathshala Program.
