Climate Change Driven Global Cholera Surge: WHO

WHO said climate change has driven an “unprecedented” larger and more deadly cholera outbreaks this year. WHO Team Lead for Cholera and Epidemic Diarrheal Diseases Philippe Barboza stated that “the map is under threat (from cholera) everywhere.” Speaking in Geneva. When compared to the five years prior, where an average of fewer than 20 nations reported illnesses, the data available indicates that there have been cases of infection in about 30 countries.
