Clean up drives in nearby societies launched post twin tower demolition

One day after the Supertech twin towers in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, were demolished, the housing societies in the neighbourhood got to work on cleanup drives.

Photographs from the nearby ATS Village community and Emerald Court have surfaced, showing extensive cleaning campaigns in progress as residents prepare to resume their dust-free normal lives now that the nine-year conflict is over.

The Supertech towers were demolished on Sunday afternoon following a Supreme Court ruling that confirmed an earlier decision to destroy the 100-meter structures due to the project’s legal violations.

Up to 5000 people from surrounding communities were made to leave the area, and they weren’t allowed to come home again until 6:30 o’clock.

With the aid of explosives weighing at least 3,700 kg, the buildings were levelled in a couple of seconds. The health department of the UP government had placed six specialised dust machines at the demolition site and taken other precautions to monitor pollution levels since it anticipated environmental concerns owing to the debris and the blanket of dust that would be generated.
