A Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel reportedly took his own life by shooting himself with his service weapon near Jio Garden in Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) on Saturday. The police, who responded to the incident, stated that no suicide note was recovered, and they do not suspect foul play.
The unfortunate incident occurred around 9:15 am at gate number 5 of Jio Garden, where the CISF personnel, identified as Mukesh Ketaria, was posted. Originally from Gujarat, Ketaria had been transferred to Mumbai over a year ago, where he resided with no immediate family.
According to officials, Ketaria was alone in the security guard’s cabin at Jio Garden when the incident took place. Using his service weapon, he allegedly shot himself in the neck. Upon hearing the gunshot, others rushed to the scene, and Ketaria was immediately transported to the hospital. Unfortunately, he was declared dead on arrival.
The Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) police have registered an accidental death report in connection with the incident. While investigators do not suspect foul play, they believe that personal issues within Ketaria’s family may have led to his decision to take his own life. The police are currently conducting further investigations to understand the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
