CISF Celebrates Raising Day, Union Home Minister Amit Shah Takes Salute

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) celebrated its 53rd Raising Day at its CISF Campus at Indirapuram, Ghaziabad. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who was the Chief Guest, took the salute and reviewed the parade.

Apart from Shah, Ajay Bhalla, Home Secretary, Director, IB, Delhi Police Commissioner, DG’s of CAPF, and DG’s (retired) and senior officers of CAPF and State Police were also present on the occasion.

Shah, after his arrival went to the Martyrs Memorial and paid tribute to the martyrs and laid a wreath at the memorial. Addressing the gathering, Sheel Vardhan Singh said that it has been a memorable journey for CISF as it has achieved great milestones while treading its path through the enormous challenges and adverse circumstances. Over a period of five decades CISF has carved out a niche for itself in the field of security and emerged as a premier, multi-dimensional, professionally competent force.

Shah released an annual In-house publication “Sentinel-2022” while praising the standard of the Parade and said that services rendered by CISF in the last 52 years have been commendable.

He highlighted the critical role being played by CISF in the economic development of the country and at sensitive airports, Delhi Metro and other vital establishments and said that the dedication & commitment of the brave personnel of the CISF are highly praiseworthy.

Shah role of CISF at airports, during Coronavirus pandemic when passengers were returning from abroad as part of the Vande Bharat mission. He said that the CISF personnel took risks in taking care of the fellow Indians and even laid down their lives due to Covid infection as front-line warriors. He also said that CISF personnel at airports are taking care of the Indians returning from Ukraine under Operation Ganga.

The home minister said that he is happy to note that the percentage of women personnel in CISF is the highest compared to all the other Central Armed Police Forces. He emphasized that presently the percentage of women is 6% and male force personnel is 94%, the percentage of women personnel should be increased to 20% in the coming years. He lauded CISF for its services, laying special emphasis on the security being rendered by CISF to the general public of the country. This reflects the professional capability & commitment of the officers and personnel of the force.
