On Tuesday afternoon, Congress Karnataka unit president DK Shivakumar’s helicopter made an emergency landing at the HAL airport after a kite hit the cockpit glass.
The Congress leader was on his way to Mulbagal in the Kolar district for a public meeting. According to sources close to Mr Shivakumar, the chopper took off from Bengaluru’s Jakkur airport and was hit by a kite.
The glass of cockpit was shattered followed by the crash resulting helicopter was forced to make an emergency landing at HAL airport. Apart from DK Shivakumar, there was also a journalist from a Kannada news channel inside the helicopter who was interviewing DK.
According to reports, Shivakumar, the crew members and everyone else who were inside the helicopter were all safe.
