The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has sought a detailed report from the Uttar Pradesh government within three days following a shameful incident of rape of a nine-year-old girl by the Imam of a madrasa under Budhana police station area of Muzaffarnagar district of Uttar Pradesh. An FIR has been lodged in this connection and the police are searching for the accused.
The victim’s sister said in the complaint that the accused Imam used to call children in the madrasa to teach them separately. He called the children even on Saturday. After the class was over, Maulana stopped one girl and sent the rest of the children away. After this, he took the girl to a separate room and carried out the heinous act of rape.
Budhana Area Officer (CO) Himanshu Gaurav said that an FIR has been lodged against the accused Maulana in Budhana police station under the provisions of sections of rape and POCSO Act. Two teams have been deployed to arrest the accused. The accused will be arrested soon, he said.
