Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo evaluates challenges of Jammu, Srinagar Cluster Universities

In a proactive move towards bolstering the educational landscape, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo convened a significant meeting today to scrutinize the issues plaguing the Cluster Universities of Jammu and Srinagar, aiming to catalyze their transformation into hubs of educational innovation and excellence.
Gathering at the Civil Secretariat, the Chief Secretary led discussions to pinpoint key challenges and devise strategic solutions, underscoring the pivotal role of these institutions in setting new benchmarks for educational standards, not only within the region but also nationwide.

Principal Secretary of the Higher Education Department, Alok Kumar, along with Vice Chancellors Professor Bechan Lal of Cluster University Jammu and Professor Qayyum Hussain of Cluster University Srinagar, alongside officials from various departments, were present to deliberate on the pertinent issues.
Highlighting the government’s steadfast commitment, Atal Dulloo emphasized the holistic support aimed at nurturing the cluster universities to their fullest potential.

The meeting delved into an array of concerns, encompassing the creation of essential posts, formulation of staffing rules, and administrative streamlining. Both Vice Chancellors expounded upon the challenges faced, ranging from the recruitment of teaching and non-teaching staff to resource allocation and the introduction of new academic programs.
Underlining the significance of adhering to University Grants Commission (UGC) guidelines, the Vice Chancellor of Cluster University Srinagar stressed the imperative of elevating the higher education landscape in Jammu and Kashmir to meet national standards.
With a commitment to overcoming hurdles and fostering academic excellence, the collaborative efforts of stakeholders aim to propel these universities to new heights of achievement and distinction.
