Chidambaram was ‘meditating’ in the Rajya Sabha

Every day, opposition parties raise the issue of Manipur violence in the house, demanding discussion with a reply from the Prime Minister. After acrimony, the house had to be adjourned. Opposition parties walked out on a regular basis. One day, when the whole opposition party walked out of the house, it was found that veteran Congress leader P Chidambaram was still in the house. One RJD member went to the house to tell Mr. Chidambaram to come out. He found that Chidambaram was sitting quietly with his eyes shut. Later, he explained to other colleagues that he had not been sleeping but had been meditating for some time. That’s why he missed the walked-out directions from the party leaders.
