CHEMICAL ENGINEER FROM HYDERABAD WINS INNOVATION AWARD

Dr K.V. Govindarajan, a city-based chemical engineer, has been honoured by the Ministry of Chemicals, Petrochemicals and Fertilizers for making the city proud once again. Dr Govindarajan, who is a senior executive under the Ministry of Defence of Brahmos Aerospace, a joint venture with DRDO and NPOM of Moscow, Russia, won an award at the 10th National awards for Technology and Innovation in the field of Petrochemicals and Downstream Plastics Processing industry for a remarkable contribution towards developing “Fluorinated top coat along with heat resistant primers for Indian Supersonic Missiles and Hypersonic Vehicles”.

The Deputy General Manager Chemicals was presented the prestigious award by D.V. Sadananda Gowda, Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers, at the Vigyan Bharath hall.

Dr Govindarajan, who pioneered the innovation, said, “I did my class 10from Railway Mixed High School, Lalaguda, Intermediate in St. Mary’s College, Secunderabad, and completed my degree from Loyola Academy, Alwal, in 1987 and took up a job in 1989 in Hyderabad Allwyn Ltd as Asst. Engineer Paint Shop.After which I completed my Chemical Process & instrumentation from Annamalai University (Correspondence) and got training in R&B Research Station Central Training Institute under the leadership of Assistant Director WM Saikumar.”
