Chandigarh Police successfully resolved the case involving PGIMER injection in a short period. The police registered an FIR for a non-intentional homicide at Police Station 11. Deputy Commissioner of Police Praveer Ranjan honoured the entire team involved in resolving the case, including Inspector Malkit Singh from Police Station 11, Lady/Sub-Inspector Babita, PGIMER Incharge, ASI Jitendra Pal, Constable Anil Kumar, Constable Deepak, Constable Pradeep, and Constable Kumar.
Additionally, DCP Praveer Ranjan praised SSP U.T. Kanwardeep Kaur and DSP Central U.T. Gurumukh Singh for their commendable contributions. The police arrested all three accused involved in the case of administering a wrong injection leading to death and presented them in the district court for judicial custody. The conspirators, the victim’s brother and his in-law, conspired together to carry out the plan. The police also seized a car from the Punjab government, which was reportedly used in the crime.
It is reported that the accused prepared the poisonous injection by watching YouTube videos. The injection included lethal hits, sanitiser, and sleeping pills. The deal for this crime was allegedly settled for 10 lakh rupees. The police had earlier arrested four individuals, who posed as fake staff members to administer the injection to the woman.
The arrested accused were identified as Jaspreet Kaur, resident of Safipur Khurd village, Tehsil-Dera Bassi, District-S.A.S. Nagar, Punjab, profession: caregiver/assistant, age 20; Jasmeet Singh, resident of Pehar Khurd village, Tehsil-Rajpura, District-Patiala, Punjab, profession: farmer, age 23; Buta Singh, resident of Alam Pur village, Tehsil-Rajpura, District-Patiala, Punjab, profession: driver, age 38; and Mandip Singh, resident of Jassowal village, Tehsil and District-Patiala, Punjab, profession: business – patient care/assistant, age 25.
