The Chandigarh Development Council is observing martyrdom week in the city, marked by a series of social and religious events. As part of these activities, a blood donation camp was held at Parshuram Bhawan in Sector 37 on Monday, commemorating the sacrifice of four Sahibzadas and Mata Gujri Ji, along with the birth anniversaries of Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Honourable Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya Ji. The Vishwas Foundation, Red Cross Society, and Parshuram Bhawan actively supported this initiative, with 99 individuals registering for blood donation and more than 60 units of blood collected.
Dr. Sandeep Sandhu, Chairperson of the Chandigarh Development Council, emphasized the significance of this week for the country and the state. In recognition of its importance, a blood donation camp was organized to underscore the value of blood donation. Dr. Sandhu highlighted that donating blood is a noble act as it has the potential to save many lives. Those who participated in the blood donation camp were honored with citations and mementos.
The former Indian Administrative Service officer, S. Of. Sharma, who has served in various capacities in central and state governments, graced the event as the chief guest. Other notable attendees included Chandigarh Development Council officials, including Patron Pradeep Sharma, President Brahmjit Kalia, General Secretary Abhishek Saratha, Senior Vice Principal Dr. R. Of. Sharma, Vice Presidents Prateek Malik and Amitabh Dwivedi, Treasurer Adheesh Jindal, Women Convenor Farmila, and Women Co-Convenor Umang Bishnoi.
