Post Graduate Government College, Sector-46, Chandigarh, in collaboration with Aahar Kranti group of Nivedita Trust, organised a one-day seminar to celebrate ‘International Millets Year.’ The Principal, Dr. Abha Sudarshan, welcomed the Keynote Speaker, Dr. Varinder Garg, the founder of Nivedita Trust.
In her address, Dr. Sudarshan emphasized the benefits of millet consumption and encouraged including millets in the daily diet. Ms. Kalyani presented a documentary highlighting the advantages of millets.
Dr. Varinder Garg delivered a talk and presented a PowerPoint presentation titled ‘Saptu Sindhu,’ showcasing the importance of historical and cultural excellence. The event concluded with Ms. Jyoti presenting a formal vote of thanks.
In celebration of Lohri, the Preservation and Promotion of Culture and Heritage Society of Post Graduate Government College, Sector-46, Chandigarh, organized a Lohri function with great fervor and enthusiasm. Lohri, the festival of harvest, marks the culmination of winter.
The campus resonated with drum beats and lively music as the function began with the lighting of the bonfire by the chief guest, Principal Dr. Abha Sudarshan. Congratulating the students and staff, Principal Sudarshan underscored the significance of the festival. A DJ party added to the festivities, where students and faculty danced around the bonfire. The celebration concluded with the distribution of sweets among the students and staff. Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Dean, and Dr. Baljit Singh, Vice Principal, also graced the occasion.
