Chandigarh BJP honours Sahibzadas’ sacrifice on Veer Bal Diwas

In a solemn ceremony organized by the Chandigarh BJP at the parking ground of Sector 35 C, the martyrdom of Sahibzada Zorawar Singh and Sahibzada Fateh Singh, the younger sons of Guru Gobind Singh, was commemorated on the occasion of “Veer Bal Diwas.” This day, marking their sacrifice, is celebrated annually on December 26 in India, following the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The program commenced with the recitation of Sukhmani Sahib, followed by soulful Kirtan and Katha. School children, passionately narrating the history of the Sahibzadas’ martyrdom through Kirtan, were honored by State President Jatinder Malhotra with traditional saropes.

Malhotra expressed the unparalleled significance of the Sahibzadas’ martyrdom, highlighting how Guru Gobind Singh ji, in an act of supreme sacrifice, defended religion and culture by laying down the lives of his entire family. Emphasizing the importance of celebrating Veer Bal Diwas, Malhotra stated that it serves as a platform to disseminate the stories of India’s rich heritage, depicting determination and bravery.

The event concluded with prayers, and attendees were served tea and Guru ka langar, fostering a sense of unity and devotion among the hundreds of city devotees present.
Dignitaries present at the ceremony included State President Jitinder Malhotra, former State President/Mayor Arun Sood, former State President Sanjay Tandon, Vice President Davinder Singh Babla, General Secretary Rambir Bhatti, Mayor Anup Gupta, Kanwar Rana, Former Mayor Sarabjit Kaur Dhillon, and several other esteemed officials and councilors.

This commemorative event aimed to not only pay homage to the sacrifice of the Sahibzadas but also to reinforce the narrative of India’s history, characterized by bravery, sacrifice, and unwavering courage.
