Amid the buzz of the mayoral election, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Chandigarh created a stir by sending all its councilors outside the city, fearing potential defections to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The move comes after the loss of their councilor Lakbir Singh, aka Billu, to the BJP. With only 12 councilors remaining in the municipal corporation after Billu’s departure, AAP convened an emergency meeting. Reportedly, several councilors were dispatched to Roopad for a temporary stay, raising concerns within the party of possible poaching attempts by rival factions.
