An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) exploded in the Tonto police station area of Jharkhand’s Chaibasa, killing a 10-year-old child, police said on Thursday.
The IED was planted by Naxals with the intention of causing damage to security forces, according to the Chaibasa Police.
Security personnel, including district police and CRPF, rushed to the scene, recovered the body with the help of villagers, and transported it to Chaibasa’s Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.
The deceased had gone to the Rolabrupi Jengagada forest to pick kendu leaves when an IED planted by Naxals exploded, killing him on Thursday evening.
