The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) will probe the murder of INLD state president Nafe Singh Rathee’s. Haryana’s Home Minister Anil Vij made this announcement in the state legislative assembly. Party chief Abhay Chautalal and Rathee’s family members had demanded a CBI probe in the matter.

The police have not made any arrests so far. However, Rathee’s family, along with INLD leader Abhay Chautala, have set a seven-day deadline for the police to make arrests. They have stated that if no action is taken against the culprits within this timeframe, they will make a significant decision. On Monday, the Haryana Police visited Tihar Jail in Delhi to inquire into the shooting of Rathee, questioning certain gang members. They will also conduct interrogations with gangsters held in prisons across various states.

The CCTV footage of the incident has surfaced. It is reported that four shooters arrived in a white i20 car, and Rathi, along with three others, were also in their vehicle. The assailants fired 40 to 50 rounds at them. Amandeep, the spokesperson for INLD, said that the former legislator was receiving death threats. Attacks on them had occurred before. He mentioned that security had been demanded for Rathi, but the government took no action on it.
During the incident, Nafe Singh Rathi was travelling in his Fortuner car. His driver, Rakesh alias Sanjay Singh, has filed an FIR in this case, accusing seven individuals. Among them, four accused are named Naresh Kaushik, Ramesh Rathi, Satish Rathi, Rahul, and five unidentified assailants. The police are attempting to track the car’s number based on CCTV footage.

As per the statement given by driver Rajesh to the police after the incident, the assailants threatened him, saying they were sparing his life and instructing him to inform their families about what happened. He added that Rathi, his maternal uncle, was sitting on the front left seat, right next to him, in the Toyota Fortuner SUV.
