CBI to bring special investigating officer in SSC scam case

Calcutta High Court Judge Abhijit Gangopadhyay has expressed dissatisfaction over the speed of CBI probe into the school teacher recruitment case. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday appealed to the high court to rely on their investigation. The CBI has told the court that a high-ranking official from Delhi will be coming soon to probe the irregularities in the recruitment of teachers.

Justice Gangopadhyay on Tuesday remarked that the CBI probe had not made much progress even though a long time had elapsed since his directive. He also said that the special investigation team of the police was better than the CBI. Later on Wednesday, CBI lawyer Bilbadal Bhattacharya told the court that a joint director was being brought from Delhi only to investigate corruption in the recruitment of teachers in schools. The official is coming to the state soon. The court has been assured by the Central Bureau of Investigation that the culprits will be found soon. The CBI also assured that none of the culprits would be released.

Following the remarks of the CBI lawyer, Justice Gangopadhyay said, “But there is still doubt as to how much you can afford.” CBI said they would take the investigation in the right way. They were going to submit the preliminary investigation report of this case. It is clear from the report that the CBI is ahead of any other investigating agency.

The CBI is currently investigating several important cases in the state. It was difficult to investigate so many cases with limited manpower. According to CBI sources, in this situation, the work will be speeded up only if a high-ranking official comes to investigate the corruption in the recruitment of teachers. The main culprits would be caught quickly.
