CBI arrests Sub-Inspector of Delhi police for taking bribe

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a Sub-Inspector from the Delhi Police while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 45,000. The arrest followed a case where the officer, serving at Delhi’s Jamia Nagar Police Station, was accused of demanding a bribe of Rs 50,000. The complainant alleged that the officer, who was also the Investigating Officer (IO) of a case, sought the bribe to weaken the charges against him and others and to avoid the arrest of his househelp and guard. The CBI apprehended the officer during the transaction and conducted searches at his premises. Further investigation is ongoing.
