There was a time when cancer was deemed incurable. However, with intensive research, advanced technology, and resources for early detection, the efficacy of cancer treatment has significantly improved. Renowned head and neck cancer specialist, Dr. Sultan Pradhan, shared this information as the keynote speaker at the Dr. RP Soonawala Oration held at Mahatma Gandhi University of Medical Sciences and Technology.
Dr. Pradhan mentioned that five decades ago, the common practice for detecting cancer was to remove the affected organ.
