Citizens Awareness Group (CAG) in collaboration with Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) organized a special session on “National Consumer Day” to create awareness about the rights and duties of telecom customers at Community Center Sector 28. On this occasion, Surinder Verma, Chairman, Citizens Awareness Group, organized a customer outreach program to educate the consumers about Mobile No Portability (MNP), Unsolicited Commercial Calls (UCC) and Value-Added Services (VAS), Roaming Charges and others. After the session, an open session on Consumer Grievance Redressal was also held where the problems of frequent call drops, call drops, network problems and tower radiation were discussed. Consumers’ questions were answered eloquently by representatives of Airtel Senior Executive (Audit) Sandeep Walia, Reliance Jio Infocomm DGM Sanjeev Vohra, Connect Broadband Mohali Deputy Manager Rekha and Senior Manager Gulshan Arora.
On this occasion, among the consumers present in the session, Wing Commander (Retd) Tarsem Bhardwaj and Usha Mahajan appreciated such an informative session. Group Chairman Surinder Verma further said that Citizens Awareness Group has been working with TRAI since June 2016 and has been designated as a Consumer Advocacy Group, one of the most active NGOs in India.
