A bus accident in Yercaud, Salem, Tamil Nadu, on Tuesday evening resulted in the deaths of at least four passengers, with twenty others sustaining critical injuries, officials reported.
As per police reports, the private bus, carrying 56 passengers from Yercaud to Salem, was involved in the accident.
When the bus reached the 13th hairpin bend, the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to collide with the sidewall.
Subsequently, the bus plunged into the gorge and landed on the 11th hairpin bend, according to officials.
The wounded individuals were promptly transported to the hospital.
“Yercaud police have filed a complaint and investigation is going on,” the police officials added.
