BSP to fight Karnataka assembly elections: Mayawati

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati announced on Monday that the party would contest the upcoming Karnataka Assembly elections on its own.

In an important meeting held in Delhi on Monday, the BSP finalised the names of over 60% of the candidates. Soon, the list of candidates will be made public.

Danish Azad, Uttar Pradesh’s minister for minority welfare, responded to Mayawati’s decision to fight in the Karnataka assembly elections by saying, “Everyone has the right to contest elections; it is her decision, but I assure you that the country has full confidence in Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
