BRO’s Project Sampark clears snow, ensures safe passage in Doda & Kishtwar

Recent heavy snowfall and rainfall in the Doda and Kishtwar areas have led to the isolation of numerous remote villages, with avalanches and landslides posing significant risks to road commuters. In response to this challenge, Project Sampark of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), operating through its 35 Border Roads Task Force (BRTF) and 118 Rapid Action Road Construction Company (RCC), has launched a concerted effort to ensure connectivity and safety for residents, bolstering the efforts of the district administration and supporting local livelihoods.

Employing a comprehensive array of machinery, resources, and manpower, Project Sampark swiftly embarked on the critical task of snow clearance, aiming to provide safe passage for commuters amidst adverse weather conditions. Advanced equipment has been deployed particularly in the Kishtwar region to address the threat of avalanches and landslides, ensuring timely clearance and road connectivity for the affected population.

In a testament to their commitment, BRO’s teams worked tirelessly, even through the night, to rescue stranded tourists and inhabitants in higher altitudes, where snow and landslides had rendered passage impossible. The organization remains steadfast in its mission to maintain 24×7 connectivity and secure transit routes for residents and road users, reinforcing their efforts with additional resources to address any unforeseen challenges promptly. The proactive measures undertaken by Project Sampark underscore the organization’s dedication to serving communities in remote and challenging terrains, demonstrating their unwavering resolve to uphold the safety and welfare of all those reliant on the region’s road networks. As they continue their operations, BRO reaffirms its commitment to ensuring seamless connectivity and facilitating essential services, even in the face of nature’s most formidable obstacles.
