On Saturday, the Blood Bank Society of Rajasthan organised an event at the capital’s blood collection centre in collaboration with the ISBT Rajasthan chapter. Specialists discussed the provision of pure and quality blood for patients, focusing on nucleic acid amplification testing and net testing. Additionally, effective measures were demanded from the government to halt the malpractice of blood bank practice.
Representatives of government and private blood banks, including doctors from various cities in the state, participated in this continuous medical education workshop, apart from Jaipur. The inauguration was done by Dr S.S. Agrawal, the President of Jodhpur AIIMS and the Chairman of Rajasthan Hospital, emphasizing the need to adhere to designated standards for blood banks to ensure the safety of every patient. Dr Himanshu Sharma, the Secretary of the Blood Bank Society of Rajasthan, urged all blood banks to adopt testing kits with high-quality standards.
