BJP’s Tarun Chugh slams Punjab govt for shutting down schools for rally

Tarun Chugh, the National Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab of jeopardizing the future of children in the state. He alleges that the government has issued orders to shut down six schools in the Bathinda district for a rally. Chugh questions the government’s priorities, criticizing their enthusiasm for political photo sessions with school children while causing academic disruption for their own political event. He urges the immediate withdrawal of the order issued for the rally. Chugh expressed astonishment, stating that in his political career, he has never heard of schools being closed for a rally. The orders, issued by the officials of Secondary and Elementary Education in the Bathinda district, specify that schools will remain closed from December 16, one day before the rally, until the evening of December 17, as security personnel will be accommodated in these schools from December 15. Chugh questions whether the prestigious position of school heads, like principal, has been degraded to the extent that they are now serving as caretakers for security personnel. According to Chugh’s information, the affected schools include government primary schools in Maur Mandi, SD Government High School in Maur Mandi, SD Government Primary School in Maur Mandi, Government Senior Secondary School in Maur Kalan, Government Senior Secondary School in Maur Khurd, and the Government Senior Secondary School for Girls in Maur Mandi, all of which are headed by women.
