BJP’s Rathore calls for NIA probe in Gogamedi murder

In the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly, former leader of the opposition, Rajendra Rathore, spoke to the media at his residence in Jaipur and said that the incident of the brutal murder of Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, the national president of the Shri Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena, at his home in Shyam Nagar area of Jaipur by assailants has sparked tremendous outrage across society. He said, “There are protests and demonstrations nationwide demanding opposition to this incident and the swift arrest of the criminals. Private schools and commercial establishments are also closed in Rajasthan. The NIA should investigate this incident, and those who conspired in this murder should be immediately arrested.”
Rathore stated, “Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi had been receiving continuous threats of being killed for the past one and a half years, even from international numbers, and he had approached the Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and the DGP of the Rajasthan Police personally several times for security. A case was also registered at the Shyam Nagar police station in Jaipur in March 2022, but the police headquarters did not take it seriously.”
Rathore mentioned, “On February 14, 2023, the Punjab Police alerted the Rajasthan Police in writing that gangster Sampat Nehra, a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, had planned the murder of Gogamedi. Subsequently, a letter was written to the Additional Director General of Police (Intelligence and Security) Rajasthan, from the office of the Additional Director General of Police (ATS) and Senior Superintendent of Police (Jaipur) on March 14, 2023, regarding the information of Sampat Nehra planning to kill Gogamedi.
