BJP to form govt in MP after polls: Scindia

As the state of Madhya Pradesh is going to assembly polls on November 17 and all the political parties have set their best foot forward, Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia spoke exclusively with India News and raised the chances of the Bharatiya Janata Party in the polls due to the party’s development-centric agenda for one and all. Lambasting the Opposition Congress for its “appeasement politics”, the BJP leader said that the oldest political party of the country has always believed in appeasing one section of the society at the cost of others. He also said that Congress has always fostered the culture of corruption and that is why, the voters of the state have almost rejected the grand old party of the country.
Q: What are the chances of the BJP in the fast-approaching assembly polls on
November 17?
A : There remains no doubt that the BJP under the leadership of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is going to win the polls without any substantial opposition as the Congress is nowhere in the picture. Besides, the party is fragmented at various levels. There is a leadership crisis in the state as former Chief Ministers Kamalnath and Digvijaya Singh are fighting and slinging mud at each other and that the voters are themselves confused who will lead the party in case Congress wins the elections. Thus, general voters are in a dilemma. On the other hand, voters have pinned hopes on the sitting Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan as he has brought stability in the state politics along with development works.
Q: BJP has always accused the Congress of playing appeasement politics. How can you clarify it?
A : Right since independence, Congress has believed in appeasing one section of people at the cost of others and this is the main problem of the party.
Now, voters have understood its politics well and are not going to be fooled any more. Time is not ripe for “appeasement politics” as people want development, security and dignity. Corruption is another aspect which the voters have rejected at full throttle. People have seen how the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government has broken the backbone of corruption in the state during its rule. Thus, people of the state are quite optimistic of the BJP win in the state.
Q: What about the Modi factor in the polls?
A : Definitely, it will work as he is the Prime Minister of the country but the voters must know that the BJP is thriving as a party because every worker is respected here whether he is PM Modi or an ordinary worker.
