Bikram Singh Majithia, a senior Akali leader and former minister, has opted not to present himself before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating the drug case. He was summoned by the SIT for questioning at 11 AM on December 27th.
Akali party’s chief spokesperson, Advocate Harchdeep Singh Kalher, mentioned that during the last appearance, Majithia requested the SIT not to fix the next date during the week of martyrdom as he was scheduled to attend other engagements. He stated that the SIT has given written questions to Majithia, and he will respond in writing within the given time. However, it’s regrettable that even during the week of martyrdom, the ruling government is not refraining from engaging in politics.”
