After delimitation, the Bikaner East constituency was formed. This seat is considered a safe seat for the BJP. Siddhi Kumari has won three times in a row from the BJP in this area. Siddhi Kumari is a member of the former royal family of Bikaner. Her grandfather, Karni Singh, served as a Member of Parliament from Bikaner for 25 years. Continuing that tradition, Siddhi Kumari has run successfully from this constituency three times. This time too, she is expected to be the candidate and win. However, some other leaders of the BJP have also expressed their candidature from her constituency.
If for any reason, Siddhi Kumari does not get a ticket from the BJP, then the party may put a seal on the name of Mahavir Ranka, former president of the Nagar Vikas Nyas. On the other hand, BJP district president Mohan Surana, close to Central Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, former MLA Narpat Singh Rajvi, and Rajendra Rathore are also under discussion.
It is worth noting that Siddhi Kumari won in the 2008, 2013, and 2018 legislative elections, but if we analyze her victories, the margin is consistently decreasing. In 2008, she won by more than 37,000 votes. In 2013, this margin decreased to 31,677. In 2018, Siddhi Kumari won by a margin of just around 7,000 votes. Voters in the area say that this time Congress can work wonders. Given the decreasing margin, a Congress candidate could win. However, much will also depend on the Congress candidate. The situation is somewhat similar for BJP’s Khema.
