The death toll from the Bhiwandi building collapse rose to 5 on Sunday, according to an official statement from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF).
On Saturday afternoon, a three-story building collapsed in the Bhiwandi area of Maharashtra’s Thane district, trapping several people beneath the rubble. The official statement of NDRF reads, “Death toll rises to 5 in the Bhiwandi building collapse incident in Thane, Maharashtra. Further rescue operations are underway.”
Meanwhile, teams from the Fire Brigade, the Police, the TDRF, and the NDRF are on the scene rescuing people trapped in the debris.
