The inaugural cabinet meeting of the Bhajan Lal government is anticipated to be held on January 18 after a prolonged delay. Although the official agenda for the meeting has not been disclosed, speculations suggest that the government might announce several measures and formulate a strategy for the upcoming legislative session. There is optimism that a significant decision regarding petrol and diesel prices may be made during this meeting.
Additionally, the meeting may include a review of decisions made in the last six months by the previous Gehlot government. Some schemes may be modified or amended, and the decisions taken so far will be endorsed. The legislative session in Rajasthan is scheduled to commence on January 19.
In preparation for the legislative session, a meeting has been proposed in the Chief Minister’s office on January 18 at 11 am, where a roadmap for the government’s future initiatives will be established. The Governor’s address will also be approved in the cabinet meeting. Furthermore, discussions in the cabinet meeting may encompass the implementation of the BJP’s election manifesto in government policies. Strategies to enhance the success of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra will also be deliberated.
It is noteworthy that the BJP secured a clear majority in Rajasthan on December 3. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and both Deputy CMs were sworn in on December 15. The cabinet expansion occurred on December 30, followed by the allocation of departments. The delay in convening the cabinet meeting had been a subject of inquiry by the opposition, but the date and time for the meeting have now been nearly finalised.
