Barnala police apprehends all four suspects in fatal assault on head constable

In Barnala, Punjab, all four individuals allegedly involved in the assault on a head constable leading to his subsequent demise have been taken into custody by the police. During the arrest, one of the accused sustained injuries in a brief encounter with law enforcement.
The victim, Darshan Singh, aged 50, was brutally assaulted by the attackers when he, along with a group of fellow police personnel, attempted to mediate a dispute between two groups that had erupted at a restaurant in the 22-acre market.
The identified suspects are Paramjeet Singh Pamma from Thikriwala village, Jagraj Singh, also known as Raja, from Ralasar village, Vazir Singh Amla from Singhwala village, and Gurmeet Singh Cheema from Cheema village. Paramjeet Singh Pamma, who was wounded during a brief encounter with the police in Barnala’s Dhanaula area, has been admitted to the civil hospital for treatment.
Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav confirmed the arrests and reported, “Barnala Police has arrested all 4 accused involved in the killing of HC Darshan Singh after a brief encounter in which one of the accused got injured. 1 pistol and 2 live cartridges have been recovered from the accused. Punjab Police has arrested all perpetrators in less than 24 hours, and the police are fully committed to making Punjab secure and safe in accordance with CM Bhagwant Mann’s vision.”
Barnala Senior Superintendent of Police Sandeep Malik addressed the media, stating, “On Tuesday morning, the police party was conducting checks in the Dhanaula area when a car approached from the Barnala side and did not stop at the police checkpoint. Instead, it proceeded towards a narrow lane.
A person in that vehicle fired at the police team, prompting Inspector Lakhwinder Singh to return fire. Eventually, the individuals in the car were identified as the four accused.
