Auction of abandoned properties by agricultural board with a revenue goal of Rs 500 cr

To boost revenue, the Haryana State Agriculture Marketing Board (HSAMB) has decided to auction its abandoned properties, which include staff quarters that have outlived their utility and old office buildings. The Board aims to generate Rs 500 crore in revenue through this initiative over the next six months. The approval for this decision was granted by Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar during the board’s meeting on Tuesday. Officials in agriculture department said that the move is part of Haryana government initiative of monetizing old or abandoned assets.

This step is expected to increase the board’s revenue, which could be used to strengthen the basic infrastructure of markets. Haryana’s agriculture and farmers welfare minister J P Dalal was also present in the meeting. Besides giving the go ahead, CM Khattar is also learned to have given suggestion to the minister as well as Board for better utilization of revenue received from sale of properties.

During the meet, the chief minister was apprised that the Board possesses old office buildings and staff quarters at 35 locations, which are to be auctioned.
The chief minister has also directed the officers concerned to create a portal for uploading information about these properties.

It was informed during the meeting that out of 37,364 plots owned by the board, 23,206 plots have already been auctioned or allocated. Currently, 14,158 plots are vacant, and the Board has prepared an auction plan for the next six months.

Auctions will be conducted for plots in various new vegetable markets and grain markets, including Sonipat, Kanina, Ambala Cantt, Rewari (Bithwana and Bawal), Assandh, Hodal, Tohana, Rajound, Uchana, Beri, Apple Market Pinjore, Kheri Chopta, Khanda Kheri, Chhattar, Aarnauli, Bhagal, Baba Ladala, Murthal, Jhansa, Thol, Chhichhrana and Nizampur, potentially generating revenue of around Rs 150 crores.

Total of 505 notices sent to defaulters in December: 49 in zone 1, 114 in zone 2, 166 in zone 3, and 176 in zone 4. Notices sent to defaulters, many claim data discrepancies.

The Goa Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) is set to hold its inaugural e-auction for prime industrial land located in Verna Industrial Estate. The auction will involve leasing out 16 plots, ranging in size from 1,000 sqm to 42,300 sqm, with the intention of facilitating the establishment of industrial enterprises. The primary objective of the auction is to generate revenue that can be utilized to meet the financial requirements of the GIDC.
