Attack on Khatushyam pilgrims triggers outrage, two arrested

An unfortunate incident took place in the Piparoli village of Ramgarh subdivision, Rajasthan, which is near Haryana’s Nuh Mewat. Violence erupted during a pilgrimage to Khatushyam Ji Temple. Members of a specific community assaulted the pilgrims, including the bus driver and conductor, and even defaced posters of Shyam Baba. The situation turned tense as news of the incident spread.
Upon receiving information about the incident, the police quickly arrived at the scene and arrested two individuals involved. They are working to restore peace in the area. Simultaneously, Hindu organizations protested outside the Ramgarh police station, condemning the attack on the pilgrimage.
As per reports, the 14th annual pilgrimage to Khatushyam Ji temple from Choti Bawdi in Ramgarh town began on August 21st. Women devotees, chanting hymns and songs, were walking in the procession. Suddenly, two youths on a motorcycle arrived near Chouki Bass, Piparoli village. They attempted to disrupt the procession, creating a commotion.
When the bus driver asked them to move aside, the two youths resorted to violence and brutally assaulted the driver. They also vandalized Shyam Baba’s posters during the procession. After the incident escalated, the police received information and immediately rushed to the scene. Both suspects have been arrested and charged based on the report filed.
Political leaders, including BJP’s Devendra Datt and others, have condemned the incident, urging the police to ensure that the perpetrators face strict legal action. They have requested that the case be dealt with seriousness to prevent any harm to religious sentiments in the area. The police are committed to maintaining peace and tranquillity in the region.
