The winter session of Haryana Legislative Assembly concluded on Tuesday has witnessed 103.80 percent productivity. During the session, the proceedings lasted for a total of 16 hours and 59 minutes, in which all 64 Legislative Assembly members who wanted to express their views participated. Divulging more details, the speaker Gyan Chand Gupta said that a total of 4 bills were passed in the winter session that started on December 15 and lasted on December 19. As many as 851 spectators saw the proceedings of the session including 595 school children and staff.
Notably, Gyan Chand Gupta held a press conference on Wednesday and shared aforesaid information related to the session. During the state, a proposal was made for the selection of the state song. Along with this proposal, 3 proposed songs were also played in the House. After discussing the songs, a committee of MLAs was formed for selection under the chairmanship of MLA Laxman Singh Yadav including four MLAs Bisambhar Singh Valmiki, Geeta Bhukkal, Neeraj Sharma, Jogi Ram Sihag in the committee as members.
Further he said that similarly, the House has also constituted a committee to investigate the case pertaining to the allegations of sexual exploitation of girl students by a school principal of Jind district. Initially it was decided to conduct a judicial inquiry into the matter, but later the House decided to form a committee under the chairmanship of Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kanwar Pal including legislators Bharat Bhushan Batra, Aseem Goyal and Amarjit Dhanda as members in this committee . During the question hour, as many as 60 starred questions became part of the proceedings, out of which the answers to 41 questions were discussed in the House. Starred questions of a total of 47 MLAs were included in this session, which included 16 BJP , 23 Congress, 3 JJP, 1 INLD and 4 independent MLAs.
Apart from these, 97 unstarred questions also became part of the proceedings. Besides, during the assembly session, zero hour proceedings lasted for 4 hours 55 minutes as as many as 64 MLAs participated during this period including 26 BJP MLAs, 5 JJP MLAs, 27 Congress MLAs, 1 INLD MLA and 5 independent MLAs. Besides, 62 calling attention notices were received for the winter session. In these, 13 calling attention proposals were discussed. Similarly, 1 notice was received for adjournment motion, which was converted into calling attention motions. A proposal placed for for discussion under Rule 84, was rejected.
