Assam Govt issues notification banning plastic water bottles below 1 litre from October 2

According to an official statement, the Assam Environment and Forest Department has issued a notification prohibiting the use and manufacture of plastic water bottles with a capacity of less than 1000 ml in the state as of October 2.

The Assam government declared last month that starting on October 2 of this year, it would prohibit the manufacture and use of PET drinking water bottles with volumes under 1 liter. On August 23, the Assam Environment and Forest Department published a notification banning the use of plastic water bottles with a capacity of less than 1000 ml in the state beginning on October 2.
