Former world number one archer, Deepika Kumari, failed to make it to the India’s Archery team for the Asian Games 2022. These games are scheduled to take place in Hangzhou later this year somewhere around September-October.
Although Deepika has failed to bagged a spot but her husband Atanu Das managed to make it to the side for the continental sporting event. After the National trials that concluded on Monday at the Sports Authority of India, Sonipat, the team for the upcoming Asian Games as well as Asian Championships, World Championships and four archery World Cups for this year was selected.
Last year, the celebrity couple, Deepika and Atanu, both had failed to make it to the team. However the duo got an opportunity as fresh trials that were held after the Asian Games were postponed by a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now the games will be held from September 23 to October 8, 2023.
