Artemis 1 mission: NASA to reattempt the launch on Saturday

In the two-hour launch window beginning at 2:17 p.m. ET on Saturday, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) will attempt to launch its unmanned moon mission, Artemis 1. (11:47pm as per Indian time). Following the initial attempt’s cancellation due to a technical issue with the space launch system, this follow-up effort is planned.

Despite the launch being scheduled, NASA’s meteorologists are concerned about sporadic rain showers. At the beginning of the launch window, they only expected a 60% chance of favourable weather; by the time it ends, they expect an 80% chance.

According to NASA, it will decide whether or not to launch after examining the current situation. An update from NASA states that the mission management team will convene early on Saturday, September 3 (by 12 Indian standard time) and make the final decision regarding whether to start tanking operations.

The crew of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s (NASA) Artemis 1 moon mission was unable to get the rocket’s engines to the right temperature range needed to ignite them at liftoff, hence the mission had to be postponed.
