The Indian Army said in a statement on Wednesday evening that a search team had found the INSAS rifle and magazine at the Bathinda military station.

Army and police joint teams will now conduct forensic analysis on the weapon to learn more about it, according to a statement from the Army’s South Western Command. The total number of rounds in the weapon will only be known after forensic examination.

The joint investigation with the Punjab Police is ongoing. Every possible assistance is being offered. The Army has reiterated that NO ONE has been detained or apprehended.

According to the FIR filed at Cantonment police station, two people wearing kurta payjama and carrying an INSAS rifle and an axe killed four jawans at Bathinda military station. Both had their faces hidden.

The assailants are still at large more than 12 hours after the killings at the military station. The combing operation is still active in the military station. The motive remains unknown, as the military and district police continue to search CCTV footage for clues.

SP Bathinda (investigation) Ajay Gandhi stated that the shooting was carried out by two people dressed in civil attire. Gandhi is in charge of a police investigation into the Bathinda Military Station. The deceased jawans were sleeping in their barracks when they were attacked.
