A dispute has arisen between Chandigarh Mayor Kuldeep Kumar and Administrator Banwari Lal Purohit regarding appointments, escalating to the point where both parties are issuing statements in the media. Following the conflict between Governor Banwari Lal Purohit and the Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab, a similar conflict appears to be unfolding within the Chandigarh administration.
In a press release on Wednesday, Mayor Kuldeep Kumar accused Administrator Banwari Lal Purohit of refusing to meet him. He stated that they had repeatedly raised the issue of providing 20 thousand liters of free water, but during the last attempt, it seems that some individuals attempted to mislead the Governor with inaccurate information. Consequently, an appointment was requested with the administrator.
In response to the Mayor’s allegations, the Governor’s Office also became involved in the matter, issuing a press release on Thursday regarding the Administrator’s refusal to meet the Mayor and refuting the allegations made by the Chandigarh Mayor.
