Apple’s Upcoming iPad Pro To Include M5 Chip, Launch Set For Late 2025

Apple’s next-generation iPad Pro lineup, set to launch in the second half of 2025, will be powered by the M5 chip. According to reports from GSM Arena, the new iPad Pro will feature significant performance upgrades, continuing Apple’s strategy of integrating its custom silicon across its product range.

Mass production of the new iPads is expected to begin in the second half of 2025, in line with Apple’s typical product release cycle. The company generally introduces major updates to the iPad Pro approximately every 18 months, so the next iPad Pro models may launch later than anticipated, following the May 2024 release of the M4-powered iPad Pro.

The M5 chip will succeed the M4, offering substantial improvements in processing power and energy efficiency. This follows Apple’s trend of integrating its proprietary silicon into more devices, building on the performance upgrades seen with the shift from Intel to Apple’s M1 and M2 chips in MacBooks and other products.

Reports from GSM Arena suggest that despite the M4-powered iPad Pro’s recent launch, the next iteration is still over a year away, with the new iPad Pro expected to arrive in late 2025. This aligns with the second half of Apple’s fiscal year, a key period for launching major products to maximize sales before the year ends. Although Apple has not confirmed the exact release date, it is expected that the iPad Pro will debut during Apple’s usual fall product announcements.

The upcoming M5-powered iPad Pro is expected to have a significant impact on Apple’s business, especially with the growing demand for high-performance tablets. It will likely continue to be a major revenue driver for the company, appealing to professionals and creatives with its advanced features and design.

With mass production scheduled for mid-2025, tech enthusiasts can look forward to a significant leap in iPad performance and capabilities when the new iPad Pro is released later that year.
