Apple Unveils New Mac Mini with M4 and M4 Pro Chips | Check Features And Prices

Apple has introduced its latest Mac mini, now equipped with the new M4 and M4 Pro chips, making it the most compact and efficient desktop in Apple’s lineup.

This upgrade signifies a major advancement, as it becomes Apple’s first carbon-neutral Mac, achieving an impressive reduction of over 80% in greenhouse gas emissions. Designed to manage both everyday tasks and intensive workloads, the M4 model offers up to 1.8 times faster CPU performance and 2.2 times faster GPU performance compared to its predecessor.

The new Mac mini also features Apple Intelligence, a system aimed at enhancing productivity and privacy while assisting users in streamlining communication and creativity.

Starting at Rs. 59,900 in India, the Mac mini M4 and M4 Pro models can be pre-ordered now, with shipping set to begin on November 8.

Mac Mini Specifications and Features

The newest Mac mini is available in two versions: the M4 and M4 Pro. The M4 chip boosts CPU performance by up to 1.8 times and GPU performance by 2.2 times compared to the older M1 model. For users needing more power, the M4 Pro provides an even greater processing experience, featuring 14 CPU cores and 20 GPU cores.

This version can execute demanding tasks, such as 3D rendering and audio processing, up to three times faster than its predecessor, the M2 Pro. With advanced multi-threading capabilities, both chips enable seamless multitasking and handling of creative tasks.

Apple has incorporated front and back ports for better accessibility. The Mac mini with the M4 chip includes three Thunderbolt 4 ports, while the M4 Pro variant upgrades to Thunderbolt 5, allowing for data transfer speeds of up to 120 Gb/s.

This device supports various high-resolution displays, with the M4 version capable of connecting two 6K monitors and one 5K display, while the M4 Pro can manage up to three 6K displays.

This Mac mini is Apple’s first fully carbon-neutral product, achieving a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by over 80% compared to earlier models. Constructed with recycled aluminum, gold, and rare earth elements, it aligns with Apple’s commitment to achieving complete carbon neutrality by 2030. The device also emphasizes environmentally friendly shipping practices and features entirely fiber-based packaging, eliminating plastic usage in line with Apple’s 2025 goal.

A standout feature of the new Mac mini is Apple Intelligence, which introduces AI capabilities like on-device speech-to-text and image generation via tools like Image Playground and Genmoji. Additionally, Apple Intelligence will integrate with ChatGPT starting in December, offering users a more intelligent Siri experience without needing a separate app. Apple emphasizes privacy by processing many tasks on-device and utilizing secure, private cloud computing for more complex tasks.

The new Mac mini operates on macOS Sequoia, which adds iPhone Mirroring, allowing users to access their iPhone apps and notifications directly from the Mac. The OS update also includes enhancements to Safari, featuring a smarter Reader mode and a video viewer for a distraction-free browsing experience. New gaming features, improved window management, and the introduction of the new Passwords app enhance the user-friendly experience of the Mac.

Pricing and Availability

Apple’s Mac mini with the M4 chip is available for Rs. 59,900, with a special educational price of Rs. 49,900. The M4 Pro version is priced at Rs. 1,49,900, with an education discount lowering it to Rs. 1,39,900. Both models can be pre-ordered now, with in-store availability starting on November 8. Apple is also introducing new accessories with USB-C, including the Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse, and Magic Trackpad, available for separate purchase.

The new Mac mini can be pre-ordered on Apple’s official website and through the Apple Store app. Customers buying directly from Apple can also take advantage of the Personal Setup service, which assists them in getting started with their new device either online or at their nearest Apple Store.
