The wife of radical Sikh leader Amritpal Singh, Kirandeep Kaur, was stopped by the Punjab Police at Shri Guru Ram Dass International Airport as she attempted to board a flight to London, according to Punjab police sources.
Waris Punjab De chief Amritpal Singh, a Khalistan sympathizer, has been missing since March 18, when the Punjab Police launched a massive crackdown on him and his organization, arresting several workers associated with the organization, which was founded by late Punjabi singer Deep Sidhu.
A senior police official confirmed the news, adding that an arrest warrant had been issued for Kirandeep Kaur. According to Punjab Police sources, she was denied entry into the airport on Thursday as she arrived for the flight from Amritsar to London (Air India AI 169), which was scheduled to depart at 1:20pm.
Kirandeep Kaur, Amritpal Singh’s wife, was on the police radar and was interrogated by cops after Amritpal went missing. Cops suspected Kirandeep of helping Waris Punjab De raise foreign funds. Kirandeep Kaur is an NRI who was born in Punjab but raised in the United Kingdom after her family relocated there.
However, after marrying Amritpal Singh in February of this year, Kirandeep moved to Punjab to be with him.
