On November 8, Union Home Minister and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah will speak at a national symposium on the promotion of organic produce in Delhi. The National Cooperative Organics Limited (NCOL) symposium will address the value of organic produce as well as the contribution of cooperative societies to the development of small and marginal farmers. There will be a discussion of NCOL’s goals during the one-day symposium.
The symposium will also have technical sessions on topics like organic production – need of the hour, certification process and criteria for organic products, and the importance of organic certification laboratories. More than 1,000 participants are going to attend the Symposium, including members of NCOL, officials from the government of India, states, Union Territories, Multi-State Cooperative Societies (MSCS), Cooperative Unions, District Cooperative Unions.
