Amid the violence row, Mamata to visit Delhi on 25 July

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee may go to Delhi on July 24 or 25. At the same time, BJP MLAs want to go to Delhi before Mamata’s visit. The idea is, said sources, BJP MLAs want to arrive in Delhi earlier with a plan to ‘sabotage’ Mamata Banerjee’s visit. Political analysts are already anticipating that the Mamata will face strong protests in Delhi during her brief visit. The violence-hit families might be present in Delhi as well, which would send a strong message against the TMC supremo.

Mamata Banerjee was sworn in as Chief Minister for the third time on May 5. She hasn’t been to Delhi since then. She also said that she would meet the Prime Minister and the President if time allows her. Nevertheless, her meeting with other leaders is yet to be finalized.

There is also a possibility of a meeting with Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, said sources.

Trinamool celebrates Martyrs’ Day on July 21 every year. With this day in mind, the Trinamool Supremo has set the tone against the opposition. Amidst the pandemic, it will be celebrated virtually on July 21 like last year. However, this year’s Martyr’s Day is much more elaborate as far as organizing the event is concerned. There will be giant screen arrangements in the booths in the state of West Bengal. Outside the state, Mamata Banerjee’s speeches will be screened on giant screens in Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, and Delhi. Screens will also be set up in Dharmanagar, Ambasa, and Agartala in Tripura. Mamata’s speech will be heard in 32 districts of Gujarat. Arrangements are also being made in several districts of Uttar Pradesh. One of the screens would also be seen outside the Delhi office.
